• Oversees reports regarding user access, payments, entity registration, banking request processed; ensures all transactions and request are processed in a timely manner.
• Reviews and processes grant restrictions and payments, dispositions, and journal vouchers.
• Provide customer service and respond to questions and issues from grant recipients and awarding agencies related to User Access, Payments, Entity Registration, Dispositions and Journal Vouchers.
• Monitor the open help desk tickets to ensure timely closeout. Process helpdesk tickets.
• Reconciles accounts and resolves discrepancies.
• Communicate with internal and external customers on Federal, State, and University policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
• Monitor processes and procedures to maintain the integrity of the internal controls to prevent audit findings and monetary risks to the university, such as fraud, duplicate payments, and penalties for non-compliance.
• Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software applications, is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing is required.
• Staff will be required to login to Microsoft Teams and Jabbar on daily basis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, business management or finance field with a minimum of two years of practical government Accounts Payable (AP) experience OR minimum of four years of prior experience as Accounts Payable Specialist

• Experience supervising staff as well as experience in complying with the Federal requirements

• Experience training and overseeing employees involved in accounts payable functions

• Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed

• Works closely with the Contract Officer Representative (COR) to report and resolve any issues identified

• Responsible for the final review and submission of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all contracted activities

• Apply professional knowledge of accounting practices, methods and techniques to perform a wide variety of assignments within the Financial Management Portfolio (FMP)

• General knowledge of administrative support systems common to the FMP or its customer agencies

• Knowledge of the financial and/or grant regulations which pertain to relevant fiscal practices of the Federal Government, all of which are applied to ensure that the accounting system accurately reflects operations and adheres to accepted accounting principles
